Fairy Slipper Orchid (Calypso bulbosa) Orchidaceae ~ Orchid Family Fairy slipper orchid is so named because its flowers are much more delicate than those of the lady slipper orchids (Cypripedium sp.): about half their size, suitable for fairies! Do not pick these or any native orchids, as, for the most part, orchid reproduction is difficult in the wild.
